Water bottles and tumblers buying guide
The right bottle is the one you will carry every day, so lid, weight and cleaning matter.
- Double-wall stainless steel keeps drinks cold or hot for hours; single-wall is lighter but does not insulate.
- A wide mouth is easier to clean and fill with ice; a narrow mouth is easier to drink from on the move.
- Check that the lid is leak-proof if you carry it in a bag, and whether it can go in the dishwasher.
- Look for food-grade stainless steel or BPA-free plastic.
- Fit in a car cup holder is worth checking before buying.
Common mistake: Choosing a bottle you cannot clean thoroughly.
