Wireless chargers buying guide
Wireless charging is convenient but slower and warmer than a cable, so buy for the habit it suits.
- Check that the charger supports the standard your phone uses (Qi or Qi2 with magnets) and its top wattage.
- The power adapter often is not included, and a weak adapter cripples a fast charger.
- Thick cases and metal plates can block charging; a good pad tells you where to place the phone.
- Stands let you use the phone while it charges; flat pads suit the bedside.
- Look for foreign-object detection and temperature protection.
Common mistake: Expecting cable-speed charging from a basic 5 W pad.
